its been awhile.

i have been living life sans computer up until yesterday. i've had my computer lying around but didn't want to hook it up again after a two week stint of house sitting at my parents and then the fries house. i finally did, not to my excitement, because of my continued g-key woes. i think i previously mentioned that my g key finally fell off completely. now there is this red pushy-thing revealed in its place. this was working fine for some time, doing its job of making "g" appear every time i pushed it. however, that stopped working all together to where i had no way of writing g at all, which poses all kinds of problems when one's name is gennie and one has an email account at gmail, likes to google, and so on and so forth. after much peril and strife, i couldn't figure out what to do without the capability to type a "g."

the solution (brought to my attention by myt very computer savvy boyfriend) is to copy a g and then continually paste the letter with the control V option. needless to say, typing is slightly slower these days, having to hit control v every time i need a g... i also realize how much the letter g is used (present perfect continuous verbs, future continuous, present progressive, etc.) all this to say that whenever i am typing on another's computer now and want to write g, i hit control V (which usually doesn't get me a g). i also find it a detriment to my typing speed because i always said i could beat polly in a typing contest.

that's right Gennie- BRING IT!! (and your control V buttons...)hahaha! and, hurray for computer savvy boyfriends (and husbands). i married into this mac see, and i've had technological difficulties ever since. i used to be able to burn Cds for friends, or copy pictures onto Cds, or heck, i used to be able to find the internet icon, but these days i can't do anything. geez, i feel like my mom. i can barely operate the minimum required to be considered generation Y on that computer. so i am glad for a computer savvy husband who can keep it all together. brian is exactly the same way. sorry about the G key. (that kinda sounds like some kind of porn flick : Gennie and the G key) not that i have experience with entitling porn flicks.

A new keyboard's not an option?

well, it is an option. but here is the problem: i use a semi-old dell lap top, and it only has one outlet for EITHER a keyboard or a mouse plug in... so, if i want to hook up a keyboard to it, i have to unplug my mouse and vice versa.
